Application for Nomination – Senate

Applying to nominate for the Senate is a more involved process than applying to run for the party in a House of Representatives seat.

Applying to nominate for the Senate involves four steps:

Step One: Completion of the Application for Nomination – Senate – see below

Step Two: Uploading a completed Candidate Deed. Independent legal advice is highly recommended. CLICK HERE FOR THE CANDIDATE DEED.

Step Three: You will be required to supply a video of approximately five minutes duration making your case of why the party should endorse you for a Senate position.

Step Four: Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview with the Nominations Committee.

Legalise Cannabis Australia respects the privacy of potential candidates however there are some matters relating to the personal and financial affairs of candidates that do require disclosure. These do not necessarily rule you out as a candidate. Issues to be considered are whether you have a criminal record, owe monies to the Australian Tax Office, ever been a bankrupt, been under investigation by the ASIC, ATO or similar, have a financial interest or shareholding in any company or enterprise that could be perceived as a conflict of interest; or any other issue in your past or present that if it were made public could be damaging to the Party?
