Doctor John Teh, founder of the Australia and New Zealand College of Cannabinoid Practitioners (ANZCCP), told the body at their summit in June that he asked for the TGA’s supporting research papers and “was disappointed at the quality of them”.
Though this is predominantly not a state issue, LCNSW MP Jeremy Buckingham did raise it with the Minister representing the Minister for Health in question time in Parliament this week to raise awareness of the ongoing disruption the TGA’s decision has evoked.
“It is particularly cruel that one of the original drivers of medical cannabis in this country was to provide for epileptic kids who desperately needed this medicine because nothing else worked – and now we are going backwards,” LCA National Secretary Craig Ellis said this week.
“The TGA is a federal body, and this issue further highlights the need for Legalise Cannabis Australia to win a Senate seat at the next federal election so that we can have someone punching for the cause in Canberra,” he added.
